Whether you need a quiet place to concentrate, a spot for group work, or access to resources, the JKU offers a variety of study zones across campus. These spaces are designed to support different learning styles and preferences.
For deep focus and individual study with no talking and minimal distractions.
Main Library & Learning Center (Upper Floors)
Quiet, spacious, and well-lit areas equipped with power outlets and strong Wi-Fi.
Open Monday to Saturday, with extended hours during exam periods.
Tip: 3rd Floor Learning Center could be a little bit more noisy than the Main Library floors.
Important: Respect the silence rules in these designated quiet zones.
Med Campus Library
A calm and modern study space for medical and non-medical students alike.
Offers individual desks, power outlets, and a quiet atmosphere perfect for focused reading or research.
Juridicum Law Library
Quiet, study‑focused space on the ground floor of the Juridicum building, suitable for individual reading and legal research in a concentrated environment.
Open Monday to Friday (until 22:00), and Saturday Sunday (until 18:00), offering extended hours for late study; during the current renovation period, access remains via the elevator and any temporary changes are posted on the library page.
Important: The Law Library is undergoing rennovation from Jan 2025 until Mar 2026 which will cause some restrictions on opening times and might cause some noise.

24/7 Study Zone
The 24/7 Study Zone operates outside the library’s regular hours; while unstaffed, the area is monitored by real-time video for security.
Access is limited to JKU-affiliated users with a valid JKU Card (students, faculty, and staff).
Tip: To enable access, register in person at the Circular Desk in the Main Campus Library during regular library hours.
Designed for teamwork, discussions, and collaborative projects.
Library & Learning Center Group Rooms
Bookable rooms and booths with whiteboards and screens, perfect for group work.

Raiffeisen Innovation center
Open booths and reservable workshops and spaces inside the bank building, usually open until 22:00 but could be accessed 24/7 from the Head Building (Kopfgebäude) entrance
Flexible environments for casual study, laptop work, or short sessions between classes.
Lecture Hall Wing and Keplergebäude (near the Mensa)
Modern, open spaces with plenty of natural light and informal seating.
Library Ground Floor
A balanced space with access to books, printers, and comfortable seating.
Science Park Lobby
Great for quick study sessions between lectures, with electric outlets and relaxed seating areas.
Most study zones offer:
Free Wi-Fi (eduroam)
Charging outlets
Printers & scanners (mainly in the library and Lecture Hall Building)
Vending machines and snack areas nearby
Arrive early during exam weeks—popular spots fill up fast.
Avoid open areas at peak lunch hours if you prefer quite zones.
Bring noise-cancelling headphones for semi-quiet zones.
Keep your student card with you—it may be required for accessing certain rooms.
For group discussions, prefer the Learning Center or reservable rooms in the Main Campus Library, which are designed for collaborative work.
