KlimaTicket is a flat-rate, annual public transport pass in Austria that allows holders to use most local, regional, and national public transportation services with a single ticket, promoting climate neutrality goals. There are nationwide (KlimaTicket Ö) and regional versions, with different prices, validity periods, and options for discounts. They can usually be paid in monthly installments, with the first down-payment usually being for 2 months in advance. Some options are:

You might be able to purchase a discount card for <26 years old called ‘Vorteilskarte’ costs 20€/year, and you will get a 50% discount on each ticket from ÖBB, and it will be valid for 1 year. See section 'ÖBB Vorteilscard' in Arrival to Linz page.
For a quick, cheap, and flexible way to get across the city, use Linz's bike and scooter sharing services. They are perfect for short trips between campuses, the city center, and along the Danube.
This is the official public bike-sharing system with over 100 stations across the city.
How it Works: Pick up a bike from one station and drop it off at any other.

Download the "Nextbike" app.
Register with your personal details and a payment method (credit card, PayPal).
Cost:
The first 30 minutes are free, then it's €1 per 15minutes. The daily max is €8.

For an even faster ride, electric scooters from providers like Lime and Tier are scattered throughout the city.
How it Works: Use the provider's app to locate and unlock a nearby scooter. Leave it responsibly at your destination within the designated operating zone.
