112 – General European emergency number (works anywhere in the EU)
133 – Police (Polizei)
144 – Ambulance / Medical emergency (Rettung)
122 – Fire department (Feuerwehr)
141 – Medical emergency service at night/weekends (non-life-threatening cases)
For serious health issues or injuries, go to the emergency room of a local hospital (Krankenhaus). Inpatient admissions for emergencies rotate on a scheduled basis between the following hospital:
1. Kepler Universitätsklinikum – Med Campus III
The main emergency department for general (internal) and surgical emergencies. Located at Krankenhausstraße 9, 4021 Linz.
Admission rotates with other hospitals—check the current Aufnahmekalender for availability.
2. Ordensklinikum – Elisabethinen Linz
Emergency care on scheduled Aufnahmetagen (admission days). Located at Fadingerstraße 1, 4020 Linz.
Treats internal medical emergencies across various specialties (cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology, etc.)
3. Ordensklinikum – Barmherzige Schwestern Linz
Emergency department located at Seilerstätte 4, 4010 Linz. Operational on alternating days according to the calendar.
4. Krankenhaus der Barmherzigen Brüder Linz
Also part of the network, it shares emergency duties with Elisabethinen and Barmherzige Schwestern according to the rotating schedule. Located at Seilerstätte 2, 4021 Linz.
5. Unfallkrankenhaus (UKH) Linz – AUVA Accident Hospital
Dedicated to trauma and accident cases—specializing in orthopedic and microsurgery emergencies. Located at Garnisonstraße 7, 4020 Linz
